This year I created and burned a fun mix of Christmas Carols to cd and passed them out to friends and family. I designed the tray card insert and used sharpie markers to draw a snowflake on the disc.

I have kind of been toying around with the idea of using something like this as a self promotion piece to hand off to potential clients and colleagues. Rather than placing music only on the cd, I would also provide resource files like holiday vector illustration samples and designed patterns that can be implemented by the user. Hmmm. Maybe next year.

For now, its just a music cd full of demented tunes.

The Crazy Christmas CD song list:
1. Jingle Bells - Barking Dogs
2. Dominick the Christmas Donkey
3. All I want for Christmas (is My Two Front Teeth)
4. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause
5. Porky Pig - Blue Christmas
6. You're a mean One Mr. Grinch
7. I Want a Hippopotomus for Christmas
8. The Chimney Song
9. The 12 Pains of Christmas
10. Santa and His Old Lady
11. Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo
12. Hark the Hair Lipped Angels Sing
13. Up on the House Top
14. The Chipmunk Song
15. The 12 Daze of Christmas (video on YouTube)

Merry Christmas!

This is a 2007 holiday card that I designed and sent out to my clients. I illustrated the reindeer in Freehand using various sized dots. The snow flakes were also created in Freehand. I then added the type (Chopin Script) to make up the antlers then tweaked the whole thing in photoshop to give it some flavor.

The inside reads:
Great Teams Make Great Things Happen.
Thanks for Allowing Me to be a Part of Yours.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Enjoy!

WINNER ANNOUNCED:
The judge has made her selection and wanted me to pass along to all who commented that she had a very difficult time selecting the winner. What the judge liked the most was the selected winner mentioning having a son that would break out in the robot dance. She wants video of this kid doing that. She also liked the mention of teaching the importance of art and how it influences us all.

So ... the winner is ... drum roll please ... AIKOHEAD

First off it is a fantastic painting and I would be honored to hang it in my home. My son, Ethan, has developed a fascination with robots over the last few years, especially "classic" ones like your painting. He himself is a classic and busts out The Robot dance on demand... but I digress. I am trying to instill the importance of art (original) to my son and I think this would be a great way to show him cool art can be had, and appreciated for years to come. It would be hung in a prominent spot in his room.

I'm sure Ethan is going to get a kick out of this new addition to the Aikohead household.

And to show my appreciation to all who participated, I will send each peron who commented a 16"x20" ink jet print of the painting, signed by me. All participants please get in touch with me as soon as possible at: sdoyle at delineatedesign dot com so I can get your shipping info.

Best wishes and Merry Christmas everyone!

Original Post:
Well ... not an actual robot, but one painted on canvas!

In the spirit of the the holidays, I will be offering up an original painting, illustrated by me, to support my page design for the HOWiezine 10 - Robots.

The illustration is composed and produced on 16" x 20" stretched canvas, hand painted using acrylic paint. The painting has been varnished and is ready for framing.

To win this illustrated scene of Robo intervention, a printed and signed copy of the HOWiezine 10 page, and a signed background story covering the painting and the concept behind it, you must leave a comment on this blog entry telling me why you must have this painting and where you would hang it if you did in fact win it. Comments will be judged to determine the winner, so be creative!

The deadline to post comments is Friday, December 14th after 6pm PST. The lucky winner will be announced on my blog December 15th!

Good luck and happy posting!
